ColorSplash!

Did you know that there is a cool app that allows you to choose which parts of a black and white photograph will be in color? ColorSplash is available in the app store for the iPad and it gives you the ability to make your simple photographs look like professional ones. It's fun, inexpensive and easy to use. Try it out for yourself and let me know how it worked for you.

Invest in White Servingware

Trust me, it will go a long way. White pieces will pair with any other color and make your table spread look very elegant and professional. My favorite spots to find servingware pieces: Homegoods, TJ Maxx, Ross, and CB2.

A Breakfast at Tiffany's Themed Shower

Shower Invitation
(These were designed and printed and then I cut blue cardstock to attach to the back of them to serve as a border and to add more color. The envelopes also matched the blue cardstock...see below.)

Brunch at Tiffany's labels were printed and attached to clear champagne flutes.
This table welcomed the guests as they arrived and it set the tone for the shower.

Guest Sign In Sheet
(so you will know who came and their correct addresses)

Party Favor
I printed small clear labels to be placed inside the party favor boxes so once the box is opened, the recipient will read a message that says "Thank you Darling"

Thank You Card Idea

This is a quick and easy way to send creative Thank You  cards after the shower.  Select a template from a quick printing place (I chose the Walgreens app for the iPad), choose a picture from the shower to upload (this will make sure that the card ties in with the theme), add a nice message and print. The prints also came with free envelopes. This idea will also serve as a nice memento from the shower.

While shopping for items for the shower, I was so lucky to find Tiffany's themed swag items for $5 or less to give away to the winners of the games that we would play.
Rule of thumb: your gifts should always follow the theme of the party.

Frame It!

Frames are your friend. You can take a simple frame and use it to place a well designed quote in or frame your menu for the event. Frames can be placed at the start of the buffet line or on the gift table with a picture of the guest of honor inside it. Frames just seem to add a little more class to any event and they will impress your guests. Take a look at a few ways that I have used frames:

Great Party Idea

This cake from Edgar's Bakery would be perfect for a sophisticated and sassy chic's birthday party or even for a bridal shower/bachelorette party. And if you know anything about Edgar's, you know that this cake will not only look good, but taste good too!

Newsletters, Portfolios & More

Ok, so I got into designing game books a few years ago when I helped with a bridal shower for one of my best friends.  It was such a hit, that I also created one for a friend's baby shower and more recently, one for the bridal shower I did in April. They are very easy to design and assemble. You can leave them at 8 1/2 x 11inch size or shrink them. I like to place them in a cute basket for attendees to pick up (along with a pen) when they arrive. The books can be binded by staples or you can get creative and punch holes at the top to lace with ribbon.
